House - Amy Lynne
I've been rather reluctant to post anything about this because if something went wrong I didn't want to have to talk about it, but it looks like we've found our new home.  Of course if you're friends with Josh you already know since he's been posting about it.  We signed a contract on Thursday, so as long as the inspection goes well we should be closing at the end of June and moving in sometime after that.  The people we're buying from said that they wanted to stay for a week after closing, but I just got a call from them this morning that they found a house in Kalamazoo, so maybe they'll want to leave sooner, or maybe not.
Anyhow, here are some pictures of the house.  I'm hoping to get some more pictures during the inspection on Thursday.

Ten foot ceilings, french doors ... sounds EXCELLENT! Wa-hoo!

Did you check out the pictures? Everyone who looks at them is freaked out by the dining room, but it's not really as bad in person, and it will look better once we have different furniture in it.

That bathroom is gorgeous, and if you really hate the dining room, you can repaint. I think it would be better with some wood furniture that was stained, not white, though.

Josh actually doesn't like the bathroom, but I do.
We've been searching on Craigslist for some dark wood dining room furniture. We haven't found anything we're totally in love with, which is fine because I don't know where we'd keep it until July. My room at my parents house is already packed with furniture.

I'm jealous! Right now, we are stuck in an itty-bitty 700 square foot house with no storage. I can't wait until we can buy our own house.

I hope everything goes through expeditiously.

The whole home buying process has been really stressful for me. Thankfully Josh has been very good at it and has done lots of research and taken care of the important stuff.

The house looks great--congratulations! Are you planning on re-painting the dining room? I hear it's tricky to paint over stripes.

We currently do not have plans to paint over the dining room. I like it a lot more in person than I do in the picture. I also think it will look way better with different furniture.
I like the dining room because it's something I would never do on my own, but it's really kind of fun and unique. If we decide after a few months that we don't like I guess we'll paint it over. I like the stripes fine, it's the bottom part of the walls I'm not so sure about.

The house looks awesome. I like all of the paint colors, especially the stripes in the dining room. The part under the trim is a little different, but with the right furniture the room will look super nice. Congratulations!
This year: house
Next year: babies

Check out the pictures I just posted and I think you might find some paint you don't like. The paint on the wall behind the bar is pretty bad. That might be my next painting project after the kitchen.
