Anyone know a graphic designer who wants to do some charity work? Or maybe you have an artist streak that you would like to explore? We need someone to design a logo for the Colorburst bike ride, and soon.
This is just one of the reasons I married Josh and why I'm keeping him around: I went grocery shopping at Meijer. Meijer is around 5-6 miles away. I headed to my car with my groceries only to discover that during my mad rush out of the car earlier to get into the store to find a bathroom I had locked my keys in the car. I called Josh and he was immediately hurrying to get the dogs in their crate and get on his bike and come out to rescue me. No asking me why I'm an idiot, no yelling at me, just on his way to get me and he was even really fast about it. I wish I could be so nice....
While cleaning/organizing upstairs I came across some wonderful treasure. It's not that I didn't know I had this stuff, but I hadn't thought about it lately. Over the years I have saved letters I received. They are loosely organized in envelopes with the name of the sender, if said person sent enough to warrant their own envelope. Otherwise there is one envelope marked Friends. I don't know who's in there, but I'm looking forward to finding out. I have started in on one envelope and have been flooded with memories and reminded of so many things I had forgotten about.

We will once again be hosting the annual Christmas gathering at our house, although at our newest location, which is bigger and better than last year. You should come and check it out.
When: Saturday December 29th at 7pm
Who: You and whoever you want to bring with you
What: A good time complete with food, drinks and friendly people
Where: Our house, contact me for more info
P.S. we're doing some sort of gift exchange, if you want to take part, I believe it's sort of white elephant like
You should come be our neighbor, this short video will tell you why. http://www.rightplace.org/live/ (your best bet is to hit play and then hit pause and wait until it has completely loaded) It's pretty good and how I feel about things, well other than I kind of have my doubts about the 24 hr city part. I'm okay with that though because I like to sleep at night.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We have the tree up and the lights up outside. I should go look again, but I think we're the only ones on the block with lights up so far. We just ordered our Christmas cards. Hopefully they turn out well. They have the potential of being cute. Other than flames shooting up in the back of the oven and the kitchen being full of smoke, Thanksgiving went really well. The flames didn't get the turkey, so it was still fine. Well, back to wasting time on Facebook and Urban Planet.
Mark your calendars for our housewarming party. Sunday, September 16th I believe we'll be kicking things off around 4:30-5:00pm and will last until it's over. Let me know if you need directions.
We have dogs! They're cute. They normally go to bed at 10, so I think they're sleepy now; they're both kind of passed out on the floor. They're around 4 years old (the people we bought them from got them from a shelter, so they didn't really know.) The only bad thing is that Lucy has some sort of bladder/urinary infection. She has bloody pee. I have to get her to the vet soon to get it checked out further. The drugs she's currently on don't seem to be helping and her previous owner called the vet this morning and they want to see her again. Ethel seems to be in completely perfect health. Once we take some pictures I shall post them.
We closed on the house on Monday. Everyone kept telling me how closing was going to suck and I was going to have to sign my name a million times, but it really wasn't that bad at all. It was exciting to get that over with and to find out that we're going to get the house a few days earlier than we thought. We'll be getting the keys either Sunday night or Monday morning. After the closing we went out to dinner to celebrate and then went home for champagne and chocolate. Yay new house!
And we have a baby. At 1:13am on 6/23, Kylie Rose Sheldon was born. She is 8lbs 2oz and 19 1/2 inches. I was the first in the family to find out she was born because I got tired of waiting and creeped back down by the delivery room to see what I could hear. There was crying! I had to rush back to the waiting room to inform the rest of the family that we had a baby. Josh and I are currently back in the waiting room cause Kylie is busy eating. I already got to help change a diaper. the stuff coming out of newborns is some nasty stuff. She's very cute and has been very good. She was sleeping when we got here, but she did wake up after a while and then she just laid on my lap and looked around, until she decided to dirty her diaper. Josh took a ton of pictures. There will be some somewhere sometime in the near future.
I'm going to be an aunt soon! We're at the hospital right now hanging out and they have computers in the waiting room, woohoo. Makes for a good way to pass the time. Hopefully I can update more when there's a baby.
House pictures are up. I think there are pictures of pretty much everything except the third bedroom. It's a beige color, but it was dark in there and there wasn't a good angle to take a picture from.
I've been rather reluctant to post anything about this because if something went wrong I didn't want to have to talk about it, but it looks like we've found our new home. Of course if you're friends with Josh you already know since he's been posting about it. We signed a contract on Thursday, so as long as the inspection goes well we should be closing at the end of June and moving in sometime after that. The people we're buying from said that they wanted to stay for a week after closing, but I just got a call from them this morning that they found a house in Kalamazoo, so maybe they'll want to leave sooner, or maybe not. Anyhow, here are some pictures of the house. I'm hoping to get some more pictures during the inspection on Thursday.
I spent some time at work today thinking about things I wanted to post about. Of course then I came home and cooked dinner and drank too much wine and now I can't think clearly enough to post about anything. Maybe tomorrow night.
